Imagination is my passion.
I use it in everything I do, whether this means finding a way to express myself, or finding ways to help others to express themselves.
I became an assistant drama worker with PACE Youth Theatre at the age of 16.
Then in my final year of high school, I worked with a fellow pupil to create ‘At Your Side.’ This is a student-run support initiative to help children deal with bullying and other issues. It was a great deal of work, but a very worthwhile experience. ‘At Your Side’ is still running today.
After finishing high school, I went on to study Community Arts at North Glasgow College.
Where I studied many things including, drama, arts and crafts, music and events management, and graduated with an HND.
I then went on to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Covering all aspects of technical theatre including, prop making, wardrobe, design and pyrotechnics.
Graduating from the Academy in 2009 with a
BA in Technical and Production Arts.
After my graduation from the Academy, I joined the Village storytelling centre as a volunteer.
It was here that I realised that everything I had been working on, were just different ways of telling stories. And so I decided to combine my passions and created ‘Oak Tree Stories’ working as a storyteller with pre-school and primary aged children. To both encourage and challenge their imagination.
Throughout my time at college and University, I have been lucky enough to work with organisations such as Impact Arts, PACE Youth Theatre, Ambassador Theatres and Effingee Productions.
My imagination is my most powerful tool. And I hope to continue to use it to inspire, encourage and challenge the imagination of those around me.
There are many ways to tell a story.
